We are Canadians located in Ontario and are the only official Canadian dealer for Ready Reserve Foods® in Canada.  Products are the same as listed on the US  Ready Reserve Foods Web Site where more ingredient detail is available.

 

We carry products we use ourselves, you will feel safe using the emergency food preparedness items below.  Ready Reserve Foods® have a shelf life of 12 to 18 years plus (depending on storage location and ambient temperature). RRF uses a heavy duty double enamel lined can. This special enamel is corrosive resistant and food grade product that is BPA free . The cans are 2 to 3 times as rigid as a supermarket can. Outer boxes are double test and are very strong. RRF are packed using automated equipment in a unique process that removes the oxygen and replaces it with an inert nitrogen atmosphere. 

 

 An inert environment cannot support life so no bacteria can survive and therefore no bacterial decomposition can take place giving the food its extended shelf life of 12 to 15 years.  RRF does "real time testing" on their foods, beyond the standard shelf life. RRF has "real time" tested their foods for over 26 years.

A Simple Explanation About Additives

These foods are prepared for survival situations and are packed in an inert nitrogen atmosphere, in double enameled cans.

  •   The enamel used on our cans is a food grade product that is Bisphenol A (BPA) free.  It is specifically designed to use on cans containing food products.

  • Fruits have no MSG but most fruits have chemical preservatives to prevent rot, colour loss & alteration of texture. Prunes, raisins have no chemical additives

  •   Vegetables have no MSG but some have colour protectants. Dishes of mixed foods such as Spanish Rice Casserole also have stabilizers. ABC soup, corn, onions, all dried beans, Stroganoff casserole are free of additives.

  •   Dehydrated creams have stabilizers. Scrambling egg mix has a little soy added. Milk, whole eggs have no additives. Peanut butter is pure peanut butter with no additives.

  •   Cornmeal, rolled outs, cracked wheat and all other wheat products, including flour, have no additives

  •   Sprouting seeds have no additives

Although we really hate to eat additives we have to be smart. Some foods become toxic when stored for a longer period of time if they have no additives. These emergency foods are meant to save our lives by preventing starvation & illnesses due to malnutrition if/when we are faced with a disaster. How ironic it would be if the very foods we stored for our survival ended up killing us with toxins!

The foods are nutritionally well-balanced if we have the correct supply and variety, with the exception of vitamin C. Vitamin C should be stored in large quantities and stock rotated to avoid outdates. We must also feed our minds but preventing food fatigue. Looking at and trying to eat mushy pale vegetables & fruits will make you depressed and you will loose the will & ability to fight for your survival.

Because the US exchange changes daily and tariffs change periodically, we decided not to attempt to change our website daily but to share a MS Excel pricing spreadsheet with all Canadians interested in prices and product ordering. Our pricing spreadsheet can be requested from Linda or call 888-810-4709 or 705-342-7472  The spreadsheet also has a place to enter the US "buying" exchange rate of the day, so you have a good idea of your real costs. You will be able to add & subtract items until you are satisfied with your spreadsheet order. Then simply save it and email it back to us.

Valued Customers

We received notification from Ready Reserve Foods of a forthcoming price increase and are alerting our customers to order prior to the increase.  The price adjustment is due to increased food costs.  Recent natural disasters and other threats have pushed up the cost of food in both the USA and Canada.  All RRF foods except bananas are US grown.  The price increase will be in effect after Oct 20th.
